Mondially cultivated, Sauvignon Blanc represents 80,9 % of the production of the vineyards of the Center-Loire. Its cone-shaped clusters and tight berries contain firm, crisp flesh with thick skin. Particularly sensitive to the varied soils and climates of the region, Sauvignon Blanc develops a pretty palette of rich and complex aromas, where it finds its most beautiful expressions here in the Center-Loire.

Pinot Noir
 

Pinot Noir

Ambassador of the red wines of the Center-Loire, the Pinot Noir covers 16,4 % of the Center-Loire. A unique vine of the Sancerre, Menetou-Salon and Reuilly wines, it comes together with Gamay for the wines of the Coteaux du Giennois and Châteaumeillant.
The Pinot Noir cluster is small and compact (in the shape of a pine cone) with small tight grains of ovoid shape, with a thin skin of a velvety blue-black color. The Pinot Noir offers a very varied range of expressions and aromas, giving the wines elegance and delicacy.

Gamay
 

Gamay

Gamay represents 1,4 % of the wine production of the Center-Loire and enters the production of the rosés and reds of Châteaumeillant and the Coteaux du Giennois in association with Pinot Noir. Black grape with white juice, its berries are covered with a thick layer of blue-whitish powder and its juicy berries of medium size, oval, slightly bigger than those of the Pinot noir. Its juicy grapes produce gourmand, fine and aromatic wines.

Pinot Gris
 

Pinot Gris

The Pinot Gris represents 0.8 % of the vines planted in the Center-Loire, only distributed on the appellations Reuilly and Châteaumeillant. Its medium clusters accommodate spherical and translucent grains, with a very sweet and fragrant flesh. The grains are provided with a thick skin that can nuance between pink and powdered blue. Used to make lightly colored rosés, the Pinot gris produces wines particularly generous, full of freshness and gluttony.

Chasselas
 

Chasselas

Planted on 30 hectares of vines in Pouilly-sur-Loire (0,5 %), the Chasselas is one of the oldest varieties of cultivated vines. France, Switzerland, New Zealand and Germany are among the few countries that still use it in wine production. Due to its sensitivity to soil, the taste varies from one country to another.
Its clusters are medium, the grains are spherical and tight, with a fine and resistant skin, of a clear green to amber-yellow color, nicely spotted with red in the sun.
The wines from chasselas are particularly freshs, lights and subtles.
