WEDNESDAY 12 FEBRUARY from 2pm to 3pm: MASTERCLASS « Centre-Loire vineyard, the historic birthplace of Sauvignon blanc: a heritage to protect? »
The Centre-Loire region, the historic birthplace of Sauvignon blanc, embodies a unique know-how and a winegrowing tradition recognized worldwide. However, in the face of climate change and its multiple impacts, the longevity of this heritage may be questioned. The winemakers of the Centre-Loire have been aware of this for a while, and have come to the conclusion that action is needed.
Now an indispensable part of the Centre-Loire region, CEPS SICAVAC is a vital tool for vine multiplication, adaptation and research on plant material.
To highlight these challenges and the pioneering initiatives of CEPS SICAVAC, this masterclass offers an in-depth exploration of the future of Sauvignon blanc in Centre-Loire. An exceptional comparative tasting will showcase the concrete advances made by CEPS SICAVAC, illustrated by their massal selections of Sauvignon blanc over two vintages. Finally, the screening of the film “La naissance d'un Cep” (The Birth of a Vine), will bring this immersion to a close, offering an unprecedented look at the stages involved in the birth of a high-quality CEPS SICAVAC vine.
👉 Speakers: Michelle BOUFFARD, journalist, sommelier Tasting Climate Change - Jean-Baptiste ROBLIN, technical director Ceps Sicavac - Loïc CAILBOURDIN and Alban ROBLIN, winemakers
