AOC Châteaumeillant : Open cellars in the vineyard

During the national committee of the wine origin which took place on June 9th, 2010, the national Institute of origin appellations (Inao) announced the passage of vineyard of Châteaumeillant in AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée).

To celebrate the event, August, the 20, 21 and 22 all the winegrowers of the appellation invite you in their cellar for a visit and tasting of their wines.

Opening of the "Tour du Pouilly-Fumé"

The winegrowers of Pouilly reveal this year "La Tour du Pouilly-Fumé.
Implanted in a remarkable patrimonial site, the Tour du Pouilly-Fumé immerses its visitor in an innovative sensory route which promote wines of the Pouilly-Fumé appellation.

From vine to the tasting of Pouilly, the Tour du Pouilly-Fumé is an invitation of the winegrowers to penetrate into their vineyard, their cellar, their daily …
Throughout the visit of the Center of Interpretation, follow a winegrower during one year and penetrate in the heart of the vineyard of Pouilly.

The visit ends by a tasting of three wines of Pouilly-Fumé and Pouilly sur Loire which marks the sensory outcome of the visit.

Opening hours: from 10am till 7pm in July and in August. And from 10am till 12:30am and from 2pm till 6:30pm from March 1st till November 14th.
Prices : full price: 6 euro - Reduced rate: 5 euro - Free entrance for those under 12 years.

Photos exhibition : Vendanges d'Images en Sancerrois

From May 22th to October 3rd For the first time ever to the scale of a whole wine area, the winemakers of Sancerre offer a huge outside photos exhibition in the vineyards.

Over 200 photographs (from 20 x 30 cm to 4 x 3 m) will be on display in the 14 villages of the wine area, on the village squares and other amazing spots.

During 4 months, with this exhibition, the visitors will take a look at the Sancerre wine area from others' eyes.

While the exhibition continues, visitors may vote for their favorite photos but also purchase them, for they are all for sale.
The ballot papers will be available from the winemakers and the Maison des Sancerre. Internet users will find all the photos of the exhibition on the website and may also vote on the Internet.
